Why We Give
Baseline believes that while profit is a corporate
goal, it is not necessarily a corporate purpose. We’re
especially proud that the charities we choose each year
are employee-selected. The company’s partners provide
an initial list of seven candidate charities, from which
Baseline employees select their top two favorites. Each
winning charity receives a percentage of the prior year’s
profit.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.mssociety.org): The mission of the National MS Society is to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. In the meantime, the organization seeks to lessen the effects of MS, educate and support MS patients and their families, and advocate for federal funding. The research they’ve supported has led to astounding findings, including the value of the myelin coating that covers nerve fibers and its ability to repair itself.
“We are happy to welcome Baseline Consulting as Patrons of the Golden Circle this year…As you requested, 100% of you gift has been designated to support critical research efforts into finding a cure and create a world free of MS. Baseline’s gift makes a real difference in the lives of the MS community.”
-- Julie Kaufer, Co-Chair of the MS Society’s Golden Circle Committee
Casting for Recovery, Oregon Chapter (www.castingforrecovery.org): The organization provides fly fishing retreats to breast cancer survivors. These retreats have therapeutic benefits, both physically and emotionally, to attendees, providing cutting-edge research findings and survivor care education. Health professionals and researchers who have dedicated their time to finding a cure are active in CFR events. The Oregon chapter is in need of funding in 2007 to sponsor a statewide community outreach program on behalf of CFR, including a float at the Portland Rose Parade, which will give Baseline some cool exposure on behalf of a great cause. In addition, the Oregon chapter of CFR will be launching a second retreat in 2007 which will now have start-up capital as a result of Baseline’s donation.
